Job DescriptionJOB SUMMARY:
The Nutrition Manager oversees supervision of the daily operation of the Senior Adult Meal Programs for Home Delivered Meals and Congregate Meals (including Senior Dine), this includes but is not limited to, meal reservations, compliance with health codes, menu planning, record keeping, grant compliance, ordering food and dietary supplies and clients who are non-response. Supervision and scheduling of all volunteers, employees in the SAM's (Senior Adult Meal) program as well as any other employee as assigned.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Associate's Degree in Associate Degree in Business Management, or CDM (Certified Dietary Manager, CFPP (Certified Food Protection Professional). or Experience in Lieu of Education - Five years of experience in Dietary or Nutrition Management.

Three years of experience in Dietary or Nutrition Management.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
Excellent in managing, supervising and experience with nutrition programs.Possess excellent organizational skills. Strong command over written and verbal communication. Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills. Good understanding of the organization's overall business and its objectives. Possess good knowledge of planning and work to learn the strategizing of financial and budgeting issues. Ability to work within a team and provide support to nutrition team.Ability to perform in cross-functional team approach and job responsibilities. Grant reports monthly, quarterly or as due.Learn with training, basic financial management skills including developing and monitoring budgets and financial reporting. Oversee required grant reporting for nutrition.Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines and produce quality results on time with attention to detail. Proficient in using computers., Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint with related knowledge. Must be able to communicate clearly orally and in writing with persons with hearing and/or speech impediments both face to face and on the telephone.Must be able to implement and maintain the clerical and administrative functions necessary as Nutrition Program Manager for the SAMS Program. These functions included but not limited to: typing, filing, recording, maintaining inventories, evaluating employees, and conducting appropriate in-services and presentations. Must be able to serve meals at any of the CRIS meal sites as well as prepare and deliver any home delivered meals to those clients as the need arises because of staff sickness, vacations, or shortages.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • The Nutrition Program Manager monitors communication with funders rules and regulations for approving grants, its specifications, requirements and performance objectives across all departments of the organization and the management.
  • Managing and supporting the grants requirements for nutrition.
  • Identify and develop strategies to optimize the grants administration process, including monthly and quarterly reports.
  • Assist with Fundraising projects.
  • Analyze performance outcome trends and make recommendations for program and cost control.
  • Provide /coordinate execution of detailed programmatic reports through department heads with the funders and the board of directors with respect to the organization's progress.
  • Monitor paperwork and other related documents connected with grant-funded programs.
  • Supervision and scheduling of all employees in the SAMS Program as well as any other employee as assigned.
  • Ensure all SAMS and other employees as assigned, receive appropriate training for their position.
  • Completion of monthly and quarterly reports for Funders and the Board of Directors.
  • Responsible for accurate statistics on clients in the SAMS Program for Funders and Auditors.
  • Recruit volunteers to deliver meals and help in the nutrition program as needed.
  • Periodic visits to meal sites for supervision and training purposes.
  • Work closely with the consulting dietician and caterer to ensure proper meal preparation and delivery.
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of equipment and supplies in the SAMS Program.
  • Maintain current records on travel and hours worked by SAMS and other employees as assigned, for submission to Accounting.
  • Ensure meal assessments are conducted on time and that all re-assessments are completed each year and that units are met.
  • Ensure that meal projections are met each year.
  • Review weekly tally sheets from sites for accuracy.
  • Maintain Nutrition client database, member base and reconcile information monthly with receptionist.
  • Prepare monthly spreadsheet of meals served by client and enter in Acorn. Prepare monthly NSIP report.
  • Conduct meal assessments and do client visits as necessary and when appropriate to operation of SAMS Program.
  • Ensure wellness calls are completed weekly.
  • Respond to Alarm calls from alarm company for agency and freezer.
