Job Description:
Job Description Job Description Company Description Butterfly
Network's mission is to democratize healthcare by enabling
universal access to superior medical imaging. We reinvented
ultrasound technology by creating the world's first handheld,
single-probe whole-body ultrasound system: the Butterfly iQ. This
innovative technology reduces the cost of the traditional
ultrasound system by miniaturizing it onto a single semiconductor
silicon chip. Butterfly harnesses the power of AI and cloud
computing to deliver advanced ultrasound imaging that is easy to
use and purpose-built for the digital era. The Butterfly iQ and iQ
devices have received FDA clearance and CE Mark certification and
are used by hospitals and clinics around the world. Joining
Butterfly Network is an opportunity to help reimagine healthcare
delivery through technology. You'll be part of a mission-driven
team focused on building products that expand access to medical
imaging and make a meaningful impact on the lives of
millions—including those closest to you. Job Description We are
seeking a Principal or Distinguished level Analog & Mixed-Signal IC
Designer to provide technical leadership and hands-on ownership for
advanced ultrasound and sensing integrated circuits. This role
focuses on high-voltage analog front ends, large-channel-count
arrays, and ultra-high-bandwidth data paths (hundreds of Gbps
aggregate scale) that enable real-time imaging and AI-assisted
acquisition in compact form factors. This is a system-level analog
leadership role, not a narrow block-design position. Key
Responsibilities include (1). System-Level Analog Architecture,
(2). High-Voltage & Front-End Circuit Design, (3). High-Bandwidth
Data Interfaces. What Success Looks Like: Analog front ends meet
aggressive bandwidth, noise, and reliability targets. Designs scale
cleanly across product generations and use cases. System-level
performance (image quality, frame rate, power) is enabled—not
limited—by analog architecture. The analog team operates with
rigor, clarity, and long-term architectural discipline.
Qualifications Baseline skills/experiences/attributes: 15 years of
industry experience in analog or mixed-signal IC design. MS or PhD
in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent silicon track record).
Deep hands-on experience with (1). High-voltage analog design, (2).
Low-noise signal acquisition, and (3). Large-channel-count
mixed-signal systems. Multiple successful production silicon tape
out with bring-up responsibility. Strong command of Noise,
linearity, dynamic range, EM/IR, ESD, latch-up, reliability, DFM.
Ability to operate effectively at both architecture and
circuit-implementation levels. Ideally, you also have these
skills/experiences/attributes (but it's ok if you don't!):
Ultrasound, medical imaging, or other sensing front ends. CMUT,
PMUT, or MEMS-based transducer systems. Systems requiring real-time
imaging and/or 3D data acquisition. High-bandwidth,
power-constrained designs. Experience in regulated or
safety-critical products. You Deeply Identify with Core Butterfly
