Position Overview:

Job Summary: Under the direction of theDirector of Operations/EDO, the Care Center Manager is responsible for theoperational management of his or her assigned Department. The successful manager will assumeresponsibility for ensuring or supporting the delivery of quality patient careto the satisfaction of patients, physicians and staff. The incumbent will remain abreast offinancial and growth goals for the department and plan for continuedimprovement in operating and financial performance. Service Standards:

Consistently exhibitsbehaviors set forth in the attached Standard Work Document.

Productivity/Efficiency:

Works closely with medicalstaff to make practices more efficient and effective through application ofpractice management analysis.

Assesses methods and processesand recommends ways to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

Ensures practice has properlytrained staff in sufficient numbers to provide effective and efficient staffcoverage at all times, including back up plans for sick leave and vacation.

Critical and AnalyticalThinking:

Ability to analyze patient,employee and physician satisfaction data and develop plans for improvement.

Technical Skills:

Strong computer skills(especially Microsoft Office tools) required.

Communication (Oral and Written):

Excellent verbal and writtencommunication skills.

Facilitates communicationamong physicians, staff and administration.

Convenes meetings, distributesmemoranda and schedules in-services as necessary.

Establishes and implements, communicatesand enforces policies and procedures that address daily operations of thepractice.

Ability to demonstratediplomacy in communication and conflict resolution techniques.

Leadership and ProfessionalAccountability:

Supports leadership andorganizational strategic plan direction. Participates in the implementation of SPMF’s strategic plan.

Actively works to achievepatient service and dashboard goals and objectives; directs staff to achievethe same.

Supports and holds staff accountableto Standard of Work.

Establishes managerial climatethat encourages teamwork and promotes collegial collaboration among all teammembers.

Participates as a leader ormember of various committees as directed by leadership.

Maintains positive workingrelationships with the community, medical staff, and all levels of supervisionand staff and mediates conflict successfully within department.

Strives for continual self-improvement throughprofessional growth and development activities. Keeps abreast of the latest developments related to the health caredelivery industry.

Q uality and Service:

Works with SPMF resources,using process improvement methods (QDS) to better meet patient needs.

Assists with the developmentand revision of goals, policies, procedures or practice guidelines.

Monitors and addressespotential risk management and quality issues in a timely manner.

Addresses patient/customercomplaints in an effective and timely manner.

Maintains standards of service,productivity, safety, security, and infection control.

Ensure EPIC optimizationwithin care center.

Provides administrativesupervision of licensed, clinical staff (e.g., attendance, tardiness, overtime,vacation scheduling, etc.)

Collaborates in the clinicalsupervision and evaluation process of licensed personnel by physician staff.

Provides training and annualmandatory education, including compliance, safety, workplace issues.

Assists with the development,implementation and evaluation of patient satisfaction improvement programs byreviewing and including Press Ganey scores and interventions in theirweekly/monthly staff meetings. Sustain knowledge of Press Ganey software byscheduling refresher trainings with the QI Coordinator and/or Press Ganeytraining staff.

Handles patient complaints,referring those complaints which cannot be resolved locally to the identifiedquality department staff member.

Coordinates quality programinitiatives, including but not limited to, the Pay for Performance Program asdefined by the organization. This would include providing time and resourcesfor the identified P4P medical assistant (s) by helping physicians adopt the(potential) practice pattern shifts involved with the new P4P clinical measuresin order to increase compliance.

Participate in initiatives toachieve performance on quality metrics.

Input and appropriate follow-up for all unusualoccurrences into the Risk Management software system for proper tracking andproblem resolution.

Qualifications:

Required: Bachelors or equivalent education and experience inrelevant area for assigned department/care center. Strong operations and leadership skills required.

Human resources and financial, management processes and procedures required to effectively plan, organize and coordinate ambulatory care.

Organizational and planning techniques used to manage assigned areas.

Medical terminology, clinical and administrative procedures, equipment, and facilities.

Federal, state, and local laws, ordinances, rules, and regulations relating to the management and operations of physician practices.
