Job Description:

The Security Specialist is responsible ensuring the overall security of the Operations/Cultivation Facility and reports to the Site Security Manager.Security Specialist will be responsible for the overall monitoring of the security system and security operations of the cultivation/operations center.The Security Specialist will monitor the video security system monitoring live cameras, ensuring overall compliance with State Regulatory guidelines, and GTI SOP to ensure strict compliance.The Security Specialist shall ensure the implementation of security policies, regulations, rules, and procedures to make sure that the environment of GTI/PA is safe for employers and visitors by maintaining visitor and employee access controls, perimeter and door checks and walking patrols throughout the GTI property. The Security Specialist shall carry out duties and delegated tasks assigned to them as directed from the Security Manager.The Security Specialist may also at times be tasked to fill in on a delivery team to ensure compliance with transportation regulatory requirements.The Security Specialist shall ensure standards and training of employees is conducted relating to safety and regulatory compliance as it relates to security procedures and SOP. Complete documentation of required forms and reports as required by state regulation, and internal reporting as established or directed by the Site Security Manager. Conduct internal investigations as assigned.Supervision of personnel, visitors and contractors as necessary and to check and monitor the access controls perimeter security system of the facility.The Security Specialist shall work with the work closely with the Administrative Assistant to ensure compliance and proper authorization of anyone entering and exiting GTI operational space.

Responsibilities Monitoring the physical security of GTI operations and employees

Ensure the safety of personnel and protection of company assets and products

Monitoring of security systems to ensure serviceability and operability on a daily basis

Conduct monthly equipment checks of security system

Liaison with security system vendors in upgrades or repair to equipment

Participate or coordinate fire drills, and building evacuations and life safety drills

Implementation of security policy, procedure, and protocols

Conduct SOP/Regulatory training and development of employees

Possess and in-depth knowledge and understanding of all applicable state regulations and GTI Security and Operational SOP

Conduct and document employee violations of SOP or Regulatory Compliance Violations

Investigate suspicious activity and document in clear methodical manner

Conduct or assist in background investigations for prospective employees

Conduct internal investigations into theft, diversion, violations of regulatory law or any situation by direction of the Director of Security

Coordinate safe and compliant movement of product and assets within the facility

Liaison with local, state and federal authorities if required

Conduct daily opening, mid-day and closing perimeter security checklists

Conduct walking patrols of the interior and exterior of the facility and documenting on appropriate forms

Coordinate efforts with Security Driver lead in assisting with tasks related to the operations of transportation and delivery of MMP to Pa markets

Perform duties on a driver team as needed

Communicate delays or schedule changes with DOH relating to delivery schedules

Communicate with driver/transport teams and provide assistance to them to accomplish safe, compliant and timely delivery schedule

Qualifications Minimum of a High School Diploma with at least 4 years honorable Law Enforcement experience, not required but favorable consideration to those who possess an Act 120 certification or equivalentor diploma from an accredited Municipal Police Academy, or Act 2 Sheriff Certification or any veteran of a State Police Agency or minimum of 4 years in related law enforcement or security field and military service MOS

Not required but favorable consideration for those possessing a bachelor’s or associate degree in Criminal Justice, Public Administration, or related subjects in addition to a minimum of 3 years Employment in a local, state or federal law enforcement, Sheriff Office or local, state or federal corrections institution

Applicants for Security Specialist must be over 21 years old and have a driver’s license before being hired in addition to passing all background check, drug tests, and pre-employment screenings on conflict resolution, and de-escalation tactics

Recommended but not required ACT 235 Certification

Recommended but not required, certification or training in Security or Police related subjects

Unarmed self- defense and de-escalation and redirection skills

Strong understanding of use of force matrix

Strong oral and written communication skills

Additional Requirements and Skills: Must be 21+ years or older

Must pass any and all required background checks

Must be and remain compliant with all legal or company regulations for working in the industry

Able to stand for prolonged periods of time, and move without aid

Possess a good knowledge of security environments and hazards

Strong interpersonal skills

Strong writing and articulation skills
