Job Description:
Primary Purpose Carries out an independent research project,
performs experiments, presents results in laboratory meetings, and
writes manuscripts. Position has an expected duration of one year
with possibility for extension. University of the Pacific

propel students, faculty, and staff. Essential Functions Performs
experiments in methods related to the research project, as defined
by a fellowship, grant or faculty member. Analyzes experimental
data. Order necessary supplies. Performs other duties as requested
by the faculty member. Minimum Qualifications Knowledge of: Basic
laboratory procedures. Cellular and molecular Biology,
microbiology, or immunology. Ability to: Operate laboratory
equipment, such as spectrophotometers, fluorimeters, microplate
reader, fluorescence microscope. Work with biohazardous material.
Learn and develop new skills such as CRISPR , flow cytometry, mass
cytometry and gene -expression microarray analysis required for the
studies. Be flexible in organizing and prioritizing work. Work
independently and as part of a team, collaborating with others.
Communicate effectively and to record and communicate results
clearly. Experience : Experience with cell biology techniques.
Experience with cell culture experiments. Experience in the
molecular biology experiment techniques. Education: PhD or
equivalent within biomedical research-related field. Working
conditions: Occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens or
biohazardous materials may reasonably be anticipated. Personal
protective equipment will be provided to eliminate exposure to
routine or limited infectious agents. Expected hours/ flexibility
Limited travel to outside facilities. Preferred Qualifications
Ability to: Be flexible in organizing and prioritizing work Work
independently and as part of a team, collaborating with others
Communicate effectively and to record and communicate results
clearly Experience: Experience with common bioinformatic and
biostatistical analysis tools is preferred Other: Experience and
sensitivity in working with people of diverse backgrounds and
cultures. Demonstrated experience in advancing social justice,
equity, and inclusion in a university setting. Ability to engage
and integrate culturally responsive practices and knowledge in
their work.
