Description Summary
- Assess, prioritize, and triage patient issues
- Provide help with symptom management for patients undergoing
radiation therapy for cancer
- Work closely with other specialty practices to coordinate
care
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team, serving as a resource
for staff and as an advocate for patients
- Assist department Clinical Nurse Specialist with Quality
Improvement projectsJob Requirements, Prerequisites And Essential
FunctionsEDUCATION
- Sufficient education to obtain a valid California RN
license
- BSN preferredExperience
- At least 3 years of Oncology experience required
- Symptom management experience requiredLICENSURE AND

- Advanced organizational skills and ability to prioritize
competing demands
- Current knowledge of common cancers and their treatments,
including chemotherapies given for diagnoses, such as breast,
prostate, lung, brain, and head & neck cancers
- Outstanding interpersonal skills and ability to work
collaboratively with clinical and administrative colleagues
- Excellent communication skills and ability to relay complex
medical information to patients at the appropriate level
