• Assess, prioritize, and triage patient issues
• Provide help with symptom management for patients undergoing radiation therapy for cancer
• Work closely with other specialty practices to coordinate care
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team, serving as a resource for staff and as an advocate for patients
• Assist department Clinical Nurse Specialist with Quality Improvement projectsJob Requirements, Prerequisites And Essential FunctionsEDUCATION
  • Sufficient education to obtain a valid California RN license
  • BSN preferredExperience
    • At least 3 years of Oncology experience required
    • Symptom management experience requiredLICENSURE AND CERTIFICATIONSRegistered Nurse Required at hireBasic Life Support Required at hireIntegrative Agitation Management (IAM) Required within 30 days of hirePrerequisite Skills
      • Advanced organizational skills and ability to prioritize competing demands
      • Current knowledge of common cancers and their treatments, including chemotherapies given for diagnoses, such as breast, prostate, lung, brain, and head & neck cancers
      • Outstanding interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with clinical and administrative colleagues
      • Excellent communication skills and ability to relay complex medical information to patients at the appropriate level
